This week the team have been working on small updates and corrections to the v.4005 patch that came out last week and Han has said that the team hope to have another hotfix out tomorrow to improve stability further. He’s also spoken about some cool new features for Tank Crew coming in an update soon that will hopefully include the nearly completed heavy assault gun – the SU-152.
Some core updates were required for tanks such as the SU-152, for example, guns with a caliber of 45mm or higher that didn’t have tracer rounds now have a flying shell modelled rather than the tracer round, these core updates were essential for Tank Crew to be an accurate WW2 tank simulation. Other features such as firing the main gun without working ventilation and closed hatches will result in carbon monoxide poisoning of the crew – very cool and very realistic additions.
The animation work done on Tank Crew hasn’t been wasted either. The team have explained how the separate animation tech is being used to add historically correct pilot models to individual aircraft such as American and British pilots for lend-lease aircraft depending on the mission authors requirements and Soviet pilots will wear the correct winter or summer uniforms depending on the mission date (other countries pilot models will follow). All these small touches add to the overall immersion I’m sure you’ll agree! You can read the full diary entry here.
