Gaijin recently celebrated War Thunders 6th birthday with 50% off premium accounts, modifications and vehicles and has also released v1.83 of the game across PC, PS4 and XBOX One. With this update the XBOX One version is now free to play having previously required the purchase of a vehicle pack but perhaps the biggest news for this release is the naval battles which had recently been in closed beta testing. Due to the huge amount of content being added the patch is a hefty 19GB but as you can see from the changelog below there is a lot of new toys to play with. The British Navy are currently in closed testing but you will be able to play with ships from the US, USSR and Germany.

About Us

The virtual No.9 Squadron was originally formed in Hitech Creations ‘Aces High’ as a historical squad that embraced historical tactics and methods of flight. Searching for something more out of a combat flight simulation we chose to move the squad to Cornered Rat Software’s ‘World War II Online’. No.9 Squadron has been active in a number of online combat flight sims including most recently IL-2 Sturmovik.

No.9 Squadron bases itself on the principles of teamwork and to have fun and be an effective unit in the virtual battlefield. Each and every member is an important member of the squad and has input into what the squad does on and offline.

This squad and the web-site is neither affiliated with or endorsed by the RAF.
